I grew up in Maryland. The eastern shore is a region of Maryland that is very flat, similar to Delaware. Agriculture is big business out there. If you're not into agriculture you may be into fishing the Chesapeake Bay. The bay has blue fin crab, oysters and other salt water fish. Another feature of the area is the rich history associated with the Underground Railroad sites.
We tried VRBO which is similar to AirBnB. We'd had great success with AirBnB across the world. Anyway, we wanted to explore this option. The eastern shore has a lot of tourism because it is near the beach and fairly near the Washington, DC metro area. Salisbury, where we stayed, is about 30 miles from the beach. It is a quaint small town with some nice restaurants. We stayed here a couple times when we came to get our Covid vaccine.
The woman who runs this VRBO had about 4 units available. She is an artist and a writer. The place is very creatively put together and huge. The kitchen is wonderful.
I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of activities and restaurants in the area. I have come to the beach nearby my entire life. A few miles away are wildlife refuges and historical sites I have never seen.
