Singapore - March, 2019

	Living in Thailand we need to keep our visa up to date. That means occasionally leaving the country to make visa or border runs. The border run gives Thailand the opportunity to reject us. They also get fees out of the deal. There are a bunch of countries nearby which are a quick trip from our home. Thailand is the size of a state in the US. We make trips to other states all the time. Thailand is a little bigger than the state of California. Myanmar is a 4 hour drive. Malaysia border is about 9 hours. Cambodia is about 1 1/2 hour plane flight. Laos is about the same. Vietnam is a little further. Singapore, the city state, is a little over an hour flight. We did a trip to Nepal for a visa run as well. The visa run doesn't have to last long. Sometimes you just need to leave and return to Thailand. Sometimes there is paperwork if you are working in Thailand or some other type of visa. So Singapore was just an overnight trip in and out. After two plus years of border runs and travel I was not looking for adventure. This was just a border run. Nothing more. I found a cheap place to stay in a cheap part of town. I ate a couple of meals. I took the subway from the airport and back.

	In the airport there is a lot of art in the form of sculptured furniture, etc. There were also TV watching areas like living rooms and computer stations. The kids were playing on a glass platform which has fast flowing water and fish.
