Story of women in Current Events

We went to the Smithsonian Arts & Industries building on a whim March 5, 2022 and found an amazing exhibit of women in science. The experience was eye-opening. We heard a Black nuclear scientist speak. We met women from around the world including Ghana who were scientists. What was especially eye-opening for me was meeting the Black women scientists, some living in this area. My awakening came when I realized the fact that if I looked around I wasn't imagining these Black women as administrative assistants or store clerks. I would walk around and think "Is she a scientist?". That was a profound revelation for me. Many Black women were crying as the immensity of the impact - the paradigm shift. It was a glorious day to visit our federal city. I was proud.

I didn't even mention the technology that portrayed the women. All of these statues were created with 3D printing. The orange figures are statues of the women.
