Restaurants in Thailand

Some of my favorite restaurant experiences

On the right is Matt and I with Not and Nueang, the proprietors of Papas House. They rescued Karen and I when we were in need one day.  Smiley face Smiley face Smiley face

So many restaurants we visited and so many we enjoyed. Papas house was special because of the atmosphere, the proprietor and the food. The atmosphere included an eclectic mix of antiques, exotic plants and wildlife.  Smiley face  Smiley face Smiley face

This is Matt and I at Papas House. Next is a pot of Butterfly Pea tea of Karens. The tea is blue like the flower but when it's mixed with lemon it turns purple. I think that's passion fruit on the end as a dessert.  Smiley face Smiley face Smiley face

This is another favorite restaurant near the first school I taught at. The owner had a daughter who I taught science to for a semester. Some of the tables have a bright tile finish. There is a ramp to bring motorbikes into the restaurant. There are a couple of large ceramic pots with lotus flowers in them.  Smiley face Smiley face Smiley face

The first picture is a soup with a variety of mushrooms in a dark broth. It has large flavorful pork bones in it. It's served at a dim sum restaurant we frequent. The third pic is an orange curry at the Cafe which is near Prince of Songkla University.  Smiley face Smiley face Smiley face

This is our new favorite restaurant with a local version of kebabs. You select your veggies, and meats and they will grill it for you as you wait. Each spit is 10-25 baht. They often have brussel sprouts, okra, lots of mushrooms alone or in combination with meats, pineapple, tomato, seaweed, potato chips, corn, broccoli. The meats include chicken, pork, shrimp.   Smiley face Smiley face Smiley face
