Mexico City August 2022 Part 6

This is a collection of images from Karen and Matts visit to Chepultepec Castle

The Mexican skies in August were always dramatic. The rainy season is upon us, but we actually only experienced a little rain. It was always predicted and it probably rained somewhere.

One of many beautiful parks in the city. We spent most of our time in wealthier areas. When we did see poor areas they were crowded on steep hills, undesirable locations.
These boats are in a park where everybody goes to celebrate. There are bands that wander around in their own boats and entertain. This is a small part of a huge park. There are several different docks that the boats launch from. If you plan such a tour be sure to plan for potty breaks and food/drink.
This was a bizarre corner park of sorts. There is a childrens playground and what looks like a detention facility in the adjoining area. Be good, kids! Or you'll be locked up? Anyway, the park was usually full of children enjoying the outdoors in the big city
The interplay between the priest and the womans head. I'm sure the woman was probably Jesus' mother, Mary.
Food carts are everywhere providing great food impromptu at great prices. They have some of the food prepared and then throw together the last bits to your taste. As far as I could tell, this type of business does everything from scratch.

They love their pets. This is a display in the convenience store nearby our AirBnB. These are snacks for the pets. So many dogs walking and they are all so well behaved.
I didn't understand this but it is intriguing. This is the front of a humanitarian agency for children.
Massive door of the Metropolitan Cathedral. Not wheelchair friendly. I wonder why the doors threshold was built this high up. All I can think of is the door would be helpful in the event of floods.

Fascinating construction on the facade of this building.
These are a fun installation where you can get a creative picture of yourself.
Little coffee stop near the AirBnB. It does not offer seating, but is located right on a main avenue.

This is a great interior shot of the Metropolitan Cathedral. So much effort spent on this building
